The office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort. School children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason. Dental appointments are an excused absence and missing school can be kept to a minimum when regular dental care is continued.
Since appointed times are reserved exclusively for each patient we ask that you please notify our office 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you are unable to keep your appointment. Another patient who needs our care could be scheduled if we have sufficient time to notify them. We realize that unexpected things can happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.
We value your time and make every effort to remain on schedule. To plan your day the following table may be helpful. The approximate time you will spend in our office for each appointment should be:
| New patient exam | 60 minutes |
| If extensive dental treatment is diagnosed | 90-120 minutes |
| Child recare exam with cleaning | 60 minutes |
| Teenage recare exam and cleaning | 60 minutes |
| Treatment visit | 70 minutes Varies but can be estimated Please ask Treatment Coordinator |
Infrequent delays occur due to unscheduled dental emergencies and on the occasion when additional time is necessary to manage, with care and understanding, the specific needs of the extremely frightened child or the patient with behavioral issues. In the event this occurs, we apologize and appreciate your consideration and patience.
If your child experiences pain, has a dental emergency or suffers oral trauma, we will see your child the same day and will make every effort to schedule the child in a timely fashion.
Please call our office (775) 823-9797 if you have an after hours emergency. You will be instructed how to page the dentist on emergency call. Please enter your phone number with area code first followed by the pound (#) sign. The doctor on-call will ask the following information:
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at all dental visits unless prior arrangements have been made with the office.
